It's August September which means two things - 1) Sydney's weather is getting warmer and 2) we starting getting a billion or so emails about 'events' happening on the 31st of December (aka New Years Eve aka Da Big Letdown).
One of the first taxis outta da ranks is trend setters (for kids between 18 and 21) Purple Sneakers who have 'revealed' their annual NYE House Party will once again be happening at Manning Bar at Sydney Uni. The event - now in it's fourth year - has previously played host to the likes of Bit By Bats, Sparkadia, Bluejuice, Faker, Dappled Cities Fly, Young and Restless, The Tongue and Bluejuice.
The 2008 line-up has yet to be unleashed to the public but the detectives, hip-cunts and/or party animals (panimals) over at Pedestrian have uncovered that mystery international will be none other than French electro-trash megastarz The Teenagers.
Obviously the memo about keeping it all a secret didn't translate properly to French as the group have posted the info on their MySpzzzz page...

The Purple Sneakers organisation have also devised a nice way for selecting the local support bands and DJ's by letting you (Mr and/or Mrs Joe Public) decide who should play. Simply head over to this special custom webspace and select your top four favourite local bands and two favourite local DJs (or DJ 'crews'). Dead China Doll + Dead Farmers + Ratcat + Siamese Ginzz = DREAM LINE-UP! Locked in?
By lodging a vote you also go into the draw to win FREE VIP TICKETS to the party for you and five of your closest friends. Which (assuming they stick to the mandatory 4000% NYE mark-up) will save you loads in the dollarz department.
